THE GOLDEN CIRCLE CLASSIC TOUR:
Witness Iceland’s world renowned pristine natural beauty and phenomena on this day trip from the capital which will take you to spouting hot springs, waterfalls, charming towns and the site of the world’s first functioning parliament.
The Golden Circle Classic Tour takes you from Reykjavik city up to ingvellir National Park, arguably the most important site in Iceland in terms of history, culture, and geology. The birth place of the Old Icelandic Commonwealth and the Al ingi assembly, the plains of ingvellir is where Iceland’s most powerful leaders met to decide on legislation and carry out brutal viking age justice. A UNESCO world heritage site, ingvellir National Park is home to Iceland’s largest natural lake and the place where the tectonic plates of North America and Eurasia split and drift apart.
From ingvellir, the tour continues through an area of beautiful scenery towards some of Iceland’s greatest natural attractions at Gullfoss waterfall and Geysir hot spring area. At Gullfoss waterfall you can take a short walk down a pathway and get right up close to this powerful waterfall. Feel the mist of glacial water on your face as it cascades down into the narrow Hv t rglj fur canyon.
Leaving Gullfoss, lunch break is usually taken in Gullfoss Cafe or at the Information centre at Geysir area. The Geysir geothermal area is an impressive sight featuring diverse geothermal features, bubbling mud pools, hissing steam vents and colourful algae deposits. Home of the The Geysir which all geysers are named after, the area also boasts one of the world’s most reliable fountain geyser, The Strokkur hot spring that every 4 to 8 minutes blasts out a column of scalding water up to 20 metres into the air. From Geysir hot spring, the tour moves on past lakes Laugarvatn and Apavatn and on to Sk lholt church that for 800 years was the seat of religious and political power in Iceland.

The Northern Lights Tour
Join us for a mysterious trip, on a dark winters night. Witness one of nature’s most spectacular displays; the phenomenon which we call the Northern Lights. Get ready to embark on a magical evening, incomparable to that of any journey you’ve been on before. Let your guide lead you to the best spots to see this natural delight.
– Go in search of the magnificent Northern Lights
– Let the expert guide lead the way and help you on your journey
– A once in a lifetime opportunity to witness this natural phenomenon
Far from the glow of the city lights, we hunt for the elusive Aurora Borealis – known as the Northern Lights. Together we will search for these magnificent auroras. On a clear night, we may be lucky enough to see the lights swirling in a wild and carefree dance across the sky in dramatic shapes, colours, patterns and sizes.
If we are lucky, let the lights take your breath away as we watch in a trance like daze. Feel inspired by the wonderful occurrence taking place before you. This is all down to excellent weather and timing, so fingers crossed, it is definitely worth the try for these views!
Possible amendments: The Northern Lights are visible from late August to April but can only be seen on a clear night. Therefore, we reserve the right to cancel this tour if the evening sky is heavily clouded or weather conditions are not favourable. A decision is taken at the latest at 5pm daily about whether the tour will take place or not. All hotels and booking agents in Reykjavik are informed by email about our decision so please contact the front desk of your hotel or the local supplier to find out whether we will be operating the tour. Before we start this tour we always check the weather forecast around the south western part of Iceland. From experience, we decide where each journey will lead us, for the best possibilities to see the Northern Lights.
Please note that the Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon and sightings cannot be guaranteed. If no northern lights are seen during your tour, you can rebook your trip for another night for free.
