For 25 days, you’ll head up the East Coast (and participate in wine tastings, gold panning, and sheep shearing), fly to Alice Springs, then go down south to Kings Canyon, Uluru, and Adelaide just to name a few destinations. The Great Ocean Road will eventually lead you to Melbourne, and a wide variety of accommodations and transport along the way will keep things exciting. Day 1 Sydney

Arrive at any time.

Day 2 Sydney/Nundle (Breakfast | Dinner)

Travel to the Hunter Valley for a wine tasting. Overnight at a sheep station, which includes a shearing demonstration.

Day 3 Nundle/Bingara (Breakfast | Dinner)

Visit a working mine and have a go at panning for gold.

Day 4 Bingara/Yamba (Breakfast)

Travel to a beach town surrounded by Yuraygir National Park. Go for a swim at the beach, relax, and enjoy the view.

Day 5 Yamba/Byron Bay (Breakfast)

Travel up the coast to Byron Bay, which has a reputation as an alternative hippie town. Hit the beach and enjoy an included surf lesson.

Day 6 Byron Bay

Enjoy free time to hit the beach, get a massage, go skydiving, or try sea kayaking.

Day 7 Byron Bay/Brisbane (Breakfast)

Travel north, and opt for a night out in Queensland’s capital.

Day 8 Brisbane/Fraser Island (Breakfast | Lunch)

Travel by private bus, private 4×4 and ferry to reach Fraser Island, the world’s largest sand island. Explore the island by 4×4.

Day 9 Fraser Island/Noosa River (Breakfast | Lunch | Dinner)

Enjoy a morning of exploring by 4×4 to hit the remainder of Fraser Island’s highlights, then set off to the Noosa Everglades for an evening surrounded by stunning wilderness.

Day 10 Noosa River/Rockhampton (Breakfast | Dinner)

Hop on board a northbound train. Visit rural Queensland and learn about cattle station history. Bed down in a swag (canvas bedroll) under the Outback sky.

Day 11 Rockhampton/Whitsunday Islands (Breakfast | Dinner)

Embark on a 3-day maxi yacht sailing adventure. Enjoy beach visits, island bush walks and time to snorkel the reefs. Anchor off of secluded tropical islands at night.

Day 12 Whitsunday Islands (Breakfast | Lunch | Dinner)

Continue sailing through the gorgeous backdrop of the Whitsunday Islands. There will be time to snorkel the reefs. Anchor off of a secluded tropical island at night.

Day 13 Whitsunday Islands/Airlie Beach (Breakfast)

Hike to an island lookout over Whitehaven Beach, known for its stunning white sand, then enjoy free time on the famous beach. Sail to the resort town of Airlie Beach for a night of dancing.

Day 14 Airlie Beach/Cairns (Lunch)

Admire the scenery on the train north to Tully. Upon arrival, enjoy lunch and a tour of the G Adventures-supported Ingan Cultural Museum. Participate in either a weaving or painting activity with traditional Jirrbal Aboriginal artists before continuing on to Cairns.

Day 15 Cairns

Enjoy a free day to visit the Great Barrier Reef or get the adrenaline pumping by skydiving, whitewater rafting or bungee jumping.

Day 16 Cairns/Alice Springs (Breakfast)

Fly to Australia’s interior and transfer to the hostel.

Day 17 Alice Springs/Uluru

Depart early and travel to the Red Centre. Hike the awe-inspiring Kings Canyon before continuing on to Uluru.

Day 18 Uluru (Breakfast | Dinner)

Visit an Aboriginal culture centre and enjoy the informative Mala Walk at Uluru. Catch the sunset over Uluru before heading to the campground for the night. Camp under the stars of the night sky—the only way to really experience the Outback.

Day 19 Uluru/Coober Pedy (Breakfast)

Cross the Outback on a rugged track to Coober Pedy, the world’s opal mining capital. After a guided tour of a mine, escape the heat like the locals by spending the night underground.

Day 20 Coober Pedy/Flinders Ranges (Breakfast | Dinner)

Admire the Outback while travelling to the Flinders Ranges for the night.

Day 21 Flinders Ranges/Adelaide (Breakfast)

Explore the Flinders Ranges before travelling to Adelaide. Enjoy a wine tasting in the Clare Valley along the way.

Day 22 Adelaide (Breakfast)

Enjoy a free day to discover Adelaide. Opt to go on a dolphin-spotting cruise, or check out more wineries.

Day 23 Adelaide/Halls Gap (Breakfast)

Set off early and travel inland to Grampians National Park, known for its sandstone mountain range and impressive rock art. Trek through the forest, lush with vegetation and wildlife.

Day 24 Halls Gap/Port Campbell (Breakfast)

Early morning walk in Grampians NP and visit to an Aboriginal cultural centre (time permitting), then travel along the Great Ocean Road, stopping at the Arch.

Day 25 Port Campbell/Melbourne (Breakfast)

Visit Loch Ard Gorge and the 12 Apostles, then travel past world-famous surf beaches. Walk through the rainforest in Great Otway National Park. Tour ends upon arrival to Melbourne in the evening.
